At the centre of this sterling silver pendant is a stunning, large piece of cabochon teardrop shape Sonora Sunrise measuring approximately 41 x 30mm.
The name Sonora Sunrise is the name used for an eye-catching red and green gem material. It occurs naturally as a rock composed mainly of bluish-green chrysocolla and bright red cuprite. This colour combination can be cut into beautiful cabochons that suggest a green landscape under a brilliant red sky. The red sky and its Sonora, Mexico origin were combined to make the "Sonora Sunrise" name".
Sitting above the chrysocolla in a hinged bezel setting is a pretty piece of prasiolite (approx. 16 x 13mm) with a sparkly chequerboard finish and at the top of the pendant is a petite pearshape garnet measuring approx. 7 x 7mm, all bezel set with a large plain bail.
